Add the potatoes to a large pot and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium high and simmer the potatoes for 10 - 15 minutes or until tender. The potatoes are done when a knife can be inserted and removed from a potato easily.
Drain the potatoes and then return them to the pot. Add the caramelized onion dip and the milk and mash the potatoes with a masher until smooth. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed.
